Dr Achini is a General Practitioner who graduated from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 2006. She completed her medical internship at the Colombo Group of Hospitals before relocating to Adelaide in 2013. She subsequently became involved in cardiovascular research at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), affiliated with the University of Adelaide.

In 2022, Dr Achini joined SA Health as a Resident Medical Officer, gaining further clinical experience within the Australian healthcare system. She later transitioned into general practice through the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) training pathway, bringing her clinical and research experience to community-based healthcare.

Dr Achini has particular interests in paediatrics and preventative health. She enjoys supporting patients and families across different stages of life, with a focus on early intervention, health assessments and ongoing general medical care. She values continuity of care and takes a patient-centred, evidence-based approach, working collaboratively with patients to support their health and wellbeing.
